Batter Up!

Will had his first T-Ball game on Saturday and he really liked it! I think his favorite part was putting on all the 'garb'! My favorite part was his tongue sticking out as he batted!

Will spent most of the time in the field adjusting his pants...a real baseball player for sure!!!

I Want Daddy!!!

Ben spoke his first complete grammatically correct sentence..."I want Daddy!!!" Friday afternoon, I was attempting to put him in the car to go get his hair cut and he, of course, wanted to play which invoked a major fit. He was arching his back, kicking his feet, and hitting whatever was close as I was struggling to get him in the car. He finally gave up and clear as day said, "I want Daddy!" Even Will said, "Ben is talking and I can understand him!" Hopefully, this "I want Daddy" stage will stick around for awhile. It is kinda nice having a child who wants Daddy when they are having a temper tantrum! :) Saturday Ben took a tumble down a little grass hill onto our driveway and got these nasty scabs on his nose. Surprisingly he only cried until I picked him up; then he was fine. We also had "Dance Party" at our house on Saturday...

We Gave It A Big College Try!!!

My college roommate, Krista, and her family came to visit this past weekend and we had a blast. Things sure have changed since our crazy college days. Partying use to mean staying out all night and sleeping until noon; now it means going to bed by 10:00 and celebrating when the kids sleet until 6:30. Luckily, her kids, Kaitlyn who is 3 and Johnnie who is 9 months, have the same schedule as our kids. They go to bed at a decent time and wake up at the crack of dawn. We were quite the party animals playing cards until 10:00 and staying up until 10:30. WooHoo!!!!

We have arranged Will and Kaitlyn's marriage. They were so cute together! Kaitlyn, who is normally shy at first came in our house and immediately followed Will into the playroom and that was all she wrote...

They were quite the team all weekend...holding hands at the zoo...

Having their first date over ice-cream...

And trying to look their best for each other...

Of course Ben just thought the more the merrier and loved having Johnnie around to 'play' with. He was also enamored with John and kept waving to him all weekend. At the zoo Ben just ran half the time, ate for a quarter of it, and said, "Wowwww!" for the other quarter. He was quite impressed.

It is no surprise that Will LOVED having Johnnie around. He still loves babies and Johnnie was a fun one to have around. Will loved talking baby talk to him and even shared his Nigh-Night with him.

All in all we had a great weekend and it was great to see our good friends!!!!

Blogging

OK, now I am an official 'Blogger' thanks to Danette and Lane's peer pressure. Again, I am not making any promises, but I hope to update our blog weekly. How long do you think that will last? Brian has on over under of 8 weeks. He is taking all bets now!!!

Will has been playing (or just following the other players and running when he feels like it) soccer for about a month now. As you can imagine, it is not his thing. Too much running he says and can you blame him? I don't even like to run that much! The picture I added is kinda deceiving becuase it is not during a game, it is before the game when everyone has their own ball. T-Ball starts in a few weeks and he is really excited about that. You run to first and get to stop, run to second...stop and so forth. I think he will like that pace a little better; and the fact that he actually gets a turn. In soccer he says that it just isn't his turn to kick the ball. If T-Ball ends up not going so good then we will wait a few years before trying anything else.

Ben starts at Oak Brook School where Will goes on Monday and I am so excited to have them both at the same place. Right now it takes me almost 30 minutes to get them both dropped off and it sucks! I am sure he will make the adjustment just fine. The more kids and chaos the better in Ben's eyes.

Egg Hunt in Action

Posted by Picasa

Will and Ben

OK, OK...I will start a blog. I can't promise that I will update it very often, but I will do my best. As you can see, I entitled our blog as ourearlyrisers which is more than appropriate.

Will and Ben had a blast at Easter. Tha Nortmans came over to help with an egg hunt, where Ben got the most eggs - by far!!! We had lunch with them and Grami and Grandpa who also celebrated with us. If I can figure out how to post the pictures of the egg hunt with this entry I will do it - help Danette!!!

If anyone is already looking at this it is Danette and Lane. Hi Girls! I still need to figure out how to do all this, but this is a start. Any tips? Aren't you so proud?
